Using Adsense Reports to Rake In Adsense Profit

What Are Adsense Reports?
Adsense Reports show you your daily, monthly, all time, anytime adsense earnings. These are google's default adsense reports that you can easily access. But to increase your adsense earnings you need to master these adsense reports. I'm going to show you how!

Adsense Reports by Domain
So you got a couple of sites but you can't figure out which one is doing the best? In your adsense account, click on Reports, Advanced Reports.

On the right click channel data, do you see the list that comes up? No? Well seems you need to set up your adsense channels. No worries we have something just for you: Setting Up Adsense Channels to Maximize Adsense Earnings.

So now the adsense channels pop up. You want to check all of your adsense domains or Active URL Channels. Make sure at the bottom of the adsense channel box you click "Group by Channel".

On your left you will want to check "Adsense Content" for your adsense product and select whichever date range you want to view. Now click Display Report.

Now you can see which domains are making the most money for you!

So How Do I Rake in Adsense Profits?
Let's say your adsense websites are your employees. Pretty good employees if you ask me (no whining and work for free!). Now if an employee isn't doing so good but another is doing fantastic, would you keep the slacker? No! You would fire the slacker and give the hard worker a raise!

Now take this and apply it to your sites. If one site isn't performing that well but another is working extra hard for you and making you tons of adsense profits, what would you do? You'd "fire" the slacking adsense website and give the hard working adsense website a raise! A raise? Give it more content! Feed the hard working adsense earner and make sure it keeps making you adsense money.

Placing images with Adsense

If you do a lot of research on the internet for Google Adsense sites, you will see that a lot of people now place images next to the Adsense

For example, an Adsense Leaderboard unit of 4, may have 4 small images above it. This has been mentioned in a lot of forums that it increases the click thru rate of Adsense. I myself have tested this and after 2 weeks of monitoring, the results are postive.

I think the reason for this is that, the images draw attention around that area and some times the visitors looking at that area, overlook that it is an advert.

This is a good example of taking advice from forums and acting on them. Notice that I took the advice and tested it. Don’t take all advice as real. Test and test and test.

You can place 5 Adsense units on a webpage?

I’ve been receiving emails from subscribers who questioned what the maximum number of Adsense ad units they can place on a webpage. Reason being that they have seen 5 ad units on some webpages.

So are those pages breaking Google’s policies? Well the answer is no and you can only place a maximum of 3 Google Adsense ad units. Confused? Don’t be. All is cleared with my explanation below.

You can only place a maximum of 3 Google Adsense ad units on a webpage. That is clear and no one can argue with me on that statement. However, you can also add Adsense link units.

These are a new type of Adsense ad formats and they look like a menu bar. If a visitor clicks on them, it will not count as paid in Adsense. The click will bring up a new page that will consists of Adsense ads that is related to the category clicked on the Adsense link unit. If the Adsense on this page is clicked then it will count as a paid click.

Adsense link units are not counted as Adsense ads because clicks on them will not get you paid.

Next is the Google Search bar. If the visitor uses the Google Search bar to search your website, the Adwords that appear on the right hand side after the search will count as a paid click when clicked by the visitor.

There you have it. You can have 5 types of Google Adsense ads on your website but only 3 of them when clicked will pay you directly. The other 3 Adsense ads will only bring up more Adsense ads for the visitors to click on. You will not get paid for those clicks only the ones afterwards.

Adsense Tips and Tricks

Well, there are so many adsense tips floating around. Still thought of compiling a list, from my own experience and from whatever I leaned from a lot of resources.
1. Adsense Heatmap
It may be told a number of times, but let me repeat - Adsense heatmap works!! I have increased CTR for a forum by almost 4 times by having ads just after the first post!
Here is the heatmap:https://www.google.com/adsense/images/placement
Heatmap for forum:
2. Use channels
Channels are great tools to track your performance. Use channels for each ad position and name them logically -"homepage-header-banner". Keep an eye on the performance over a period of time, say one week. Don't be afraid to experiment. Change the colors, blending, size and see which one perform best.
3. Section targeting
Are you not getting relevant ads on your site? Dont worry, you can use section targetting.Keep your most important text inside section targeting tags:Your text goes here.
4. Less is MoreAre you getting $0.03 clicks? Probably you are using too many ads on a single page. Even though google allow you to plance up to 3 ads on a page, better keep it to one or maximum two. That is the best way to make sure that your clicks get paid more. Make sure that the location where you get maximum clicks will be the first one to display ads. To make it clear, there should not be any ads above your best location, when you see the HTML source code.
5. Blend Your AdsBlending the ads to your site converts the best. You may opt for the same background color as the site, same text color etc.Another tip: Dark background colors and light fonts work best. For eg: Balck background and white text, for both your site content as well as ads. You may have a slightly different font color for ads(say yellow) to get noticed. It may not be easy on your visitors, but it converts well. if you are not expecting too many repeat visitors, this may be a good idea.

Tips to Avoid Receiving "Your Adsense Account Has Been Banned" E-Mail from Adsense

1. Use a click monitoring software. Do a research though on which ones are really effective and
not fraudulent themselves.

2. Don't be boastful about your Adsense earnings or which sites you own or don't ever discuss
your source of online income. You don't know who might get envious and try to get your
Adsense account banned by clicking endlessly. Friends and your family might even try to help
by clicking your Adsense to your account's doom.

3. Say no to artificial traffic-generating software or programs.

4. Outpace the Google team in tracking clickfraud activities. The first tip should help in
accomplishing this one. Notify Google as soon as you track some abnormal click results.

How to use Adsense cleverly on your blog

Placing Adsense on your blog is easy. A simple copy and paste action and you’ve setup your website to make money. However, you need to know when to place Adsense ads and where to place them and how to place them. This is what divides the successful Adsense website builders from the not-so-successful Adsense website builders. You need to use Adsense cleverly on your website.

Here are my findings you can use which has worked well for me to increase your Adsense income.

There has been a lot of discussion of people throwing-up when they see Adsense on a blog. They see the blog as a vehicle to earn income from Adsense and the blog itself has no value. After seeing some awful blogs.

What you need to do is place Adsense on your blog which blends with your website. Take away those borders and change the colors. Make it look as though it is part of your website. This will lessen the preconceived notion others have with Adsense blogs.

Next, you need to post regularly to your blog. I have to admit that regularly means daily. I have tests that show missing a day or two with blogging, generally affects the traffic to your blog. So get some postings ready for times when you are busy.

With good daily updated content on your blog, people will not mind that your blog has Adsense on them. You have to understand that people are looking for information. If you give them what they want, they will return and click on some Adsense ads which are of interest to them in time.
Daily blogging with good content will make people forget your blog is built for Adsense income. They will appreciate that you are making money since you are spending so much time offering them content.

I find that using horizontal Adsense ads are very effective. These are called leaderboards which span across the website. I normally place these at the top of the website so that my regular readers will see them first thing when they visit.

I also find that ad links are very effective. These are Adsense ads that only show the category of ads and have no description. They look like menu bars. People need to click on the ad link, see a list of related Adsense and click on them again before you are paid.

Though it requires 2 clicks to generate Adsense income for you, I find that this sort of ad is very effective. The good thing is Google does not count ad links towards the number of Adsense ads you can have on your website (which is 3 by the way).

Next, if you’re writing a post on your blog, make sure that you place Adsense right after you mention an interesting point. It could be the revealing of a finding or some breaking news with your niche.

The reason is that people are drawn to your content at that moment and seeing related Adsense ads beside it will help the click thru rate.

For your last Adsense ad, I would suggest placing it on the left hand side of your blog. Preferably you will have a sign up box for a newsletter or mini-course there, and place your Adsense under it.

We humans read from left to right and from top to bottom. The top left portion of your blog is viewed the most when they visit your blog. Make use of this space.

Use these suggestions to place your ads and increase the Adsense clicks. They have worked for me. I suggest you test out a lot of these and see for yourself.

There are many membership sites that sell Adsense templates that has good website content.step by step training and webhosting which you can start to use immediately for your Adsense business. Many of these are optimized with Adsense already so it will save you a lot of work. Learn how the templaes are structured and take action on your own blogs or websites.
